Efavir (Efavirenz) is an antiviral medication used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs to treat HIV-1 infection in adults and children weighing at least 3.5 kg. It helps reduce the viral load in the blood, increase CD4+ immune cells, and delay the progression to AIDS. It does not cure HIV.
