Ribavirin is a broad-spectrum antiviral medication primarily used in combination with other drugs (such as sofosbuvir or peginterferon) to treat chronic hepatitis C (HCV) infections. It is also occasionally used via inhalation to treat severe respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in infants, and off-label for certain viral hemorrhagic fevers.
